Ms Caroline Jordan
The Jordan Result
caroline.jordan@My1stbusiness.com http://www.thejordanresult.com/home.html In one way or another, I've been involved with small businesses since the 1970's. My earliest lessons were at my mother's knee where I learned the importance of delivering a quality product (plump, juicy blackberries) and the rewards of enterprise (some jingle in my pocket and blackberry pie to boot!) Both of my parents had stints of self-employment (with very different levels of results). My own first business was a neighborhood babysitting service. (As the saying goes...if only I knew then what I know now...I could have made a mint on that one!)
By the time I was eighteen, I was hooked for life, bitten by the small business bug, and I've never looked back. (Okay, confession time, there was a time during the late 80's when I thought I wanted to climb the corporate ladder, but fortunately I recovered.)
My next business venture was in college. The business was unofficially known as "(Almost) Anything for a Fee". I typed term papers, provided child care, shoveled snow, wrote resumes, and prepared tax returns. Later, I co-owned a tree service and a pallet manufacturing business.
From there, I started a mobile tax preparing service, which eventually, after I earned an MBA, I turned into full scale accounting and consulting services for small businesses. That business has evolved intoThe Jordan Result, a business dedicated to small business consulting and training, headquartered in the scenic small town of Waterford, Maine.
I have worked with businesses of all types, and business owners from all walks of life. I have seen business owners (myself included) struggle with all the same issues and make all the same mistakes. The really good ones have the same thing in common. They each make a concerted effort to figure things out. They read books, they ask questions, they think about how to improve their own skills, and gradually they create strong businesses that are built to last.
I'd like you to be one of those successful ones. Whether you use my consulting services or attend one of my training seminars, or you get the information from some other source, I encourage you to learn as much as you can about the art and science of running a small business. We'll both be happy you did.
